OK, I just came up with something evil. But, I like it because it saves doing that extra assignment every time

StringBuilder qs = new StringBuilder();
bool firstKey = true;
foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> kvp in param)
{
I loathe April Fools Day. But, I've written up a rant about it about five years running. I want to turn it into a holiday called "Dead Serious Day", where everyone announces insanely outlandish things (like Gmail) that turn out to be true (like Gmail).

But, I could do without the bad news (Mitch Hedberg : [ ) which reminds me, I missed celebrating Mitch Hedberg Day the other day ;_;

    One thing I just absolutely do not understand is using properties vs public members. If all you're doing is { get; set; }, then how is that different from just using a public variable? Because it makes you feel better, like you're not exposing a public variable? Maybe there's some difference I just don't recognize or know about. But, whatever.

    Drives me crazy when people create objects just to use them once, and don't even change the value of it that time. Especially when the thing goes out of scope immediately afterwards.

For example.

{
string message = "Error: user is dumb";
Textbox1.Text = message;
}

return;

WHY DO THIS. WHY. IS IT TO HASTEN MY INEVITABLE ANEURYSM. IS IT. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE. JUST SHOOT ME IN THE FACE INSTEAD. PLEASE. AT LEAST THAT'S MORE HONEST.

    Soooooo, I'll put this here just in case this happens to anyone else. We're moving to Visual Studio 2008, and VS and IE both would crash immediately upon debugging. Even with a new, empty web site.

Or, I should say, VS would crash and IE would hang until I used Task Manager to kill it.

For me, this was caused by having IE7Pro installed and using the AccuWeather plug-in. Disabling the AccuWeather plug-in only fixed this. Must be a problem with the way the plugin hooks into the status bar.

Anyway. There you have that.

    I attended the Visual Studio 2008 launch event in Chicago yesterday. It was chillax. But the free copies of Visual Studio 2008 and Vista Ultimate are chillaxer. Not that I'm using Vista on my pc. That would be madness. I want to actually use my computer, not hit windows key+tab, say "Wow" a few times, then look at system properties and see all my unrecognized drivers. I still like to occasionally play pc games. You know, the old ones, from back when pc gaming was still viable.

Because pc gaming is dead. Ha ha. HOLY SHIT, PC GAMING.

    So I'd never heard of Spitzer before two days ago. Had you asked me who was currently governor of New York, I'd probably furrow my brow, think for a minute, and derisively guess Pataki. But now that I have heard of him, and heard of his past actions, I'm glad the douche got caught. The shadow government actually used their evil powers to do something right for once. Of course, he's inevitably going to get off somehow. Ha ha, get off. Guess he did that a lot already. I'm still convinced George Ryan isn't actually in jail, and is on a tropical island somewhere drinking mai tais and boning 13 year olds.

I'm really hoping ol' Blarghovitch ends up being Client #10. Or less.

I'm convinced no one is decent. Everyone is defective™. You either are a regular dude, or a militant religious/righteous nutball who secretly wears a slave mask, likes to be called Sally, and has massive scars on hidden parts of your body. Everyone has problems. Some people are just average. Some are extreme in everything.

Myself, I like young Romanian slave girls. The more desperate for US citizenship/regular shelter the better.
